Assessments coming home

Rubrics containing final mark and comments for our two recent presentation should be coming home today. Anyone who has done their presentations has had their marks explained. Remaining presenters will receive their marks tomorrow.

Reminders and Updates

Today all Bowling trip forms and $7.50 are due!  We are going to O'Connor Bowl and the Splash pad on Thursday, June 26. 

Pioneer Village forms and fees have all been collected.  The grade 3's are heading there on Tuesday, June. 24. Our parent volunteers are Mrs.Shah and Mrs. Imran. Thank you!

Toronto Zoo forms and fees are due this Wednesday, June. 18. The Grade 4's are heading there on Tuesday, June 24 as well!  We still need 1 parent volunteer for this trip!

PHOTO RETURN!  LifeTouch has kindly asked that any and all photo packages that were taken home and not paid for be returned ASAP OR send appropriate dollar amount for what you choose to keep.  Thank you!

Presentations - Almost all the presentations are complete.  We have quite a number of them to view today!  We will have them wrapped up by Wednesday.

Happy Fathers Day!

Today is a day we honour our fathers.  For many of us, fathers have been our rock, our guides, our words of wisdom. Today I would like to wish all fathers a very Happy Fathers Day! Enjoy your day.
This is MY dad.  He is one cool dude. And one heck of a golfer. xo

ARRGH! Frustration! Can YOU feel it too?

It has just been brought to my attention that they will be closing down the computer lab on Monday and Tuesday which will interfere with our report typing plans.  Any one who can get this done at home is encouraged to do so.

Grade 4 Report - Format expectations

Some of the grade fours have also either been asked or have taken it upon themselves to take their edited rough draft home for typing.  Below is the expected format:

- size 12 font
- times new roman font
- must include the opening paragraph, 3 topic paragraphs with the 4th including the conclusion.(see previous post on report outline)
- NO headings
- include a title page

Grade 3 Pioneer Reports

Some of the grade threes have been asked to take their edited rough draft home for typing.  Below is the expected format:

- size 12 font
- times new roman font
- must include the opening, body and closing
- NO headings
- include a title page

Presentations

Presentations will start next week. Everyone has signed up for a spot.  They will take place on Monday starting with Nathan, Robert and Tim.  Thank you boys for having the courage to go first!

Presentations will continue Tuesday, Thursday, Friday and the following Monday.
There are still a handful of kids who are needing to type up their report and we will have time on Monday and Tuesday to get that done.

(Presentation display boards are encouraged but not mandatory) 

Ancient Civilization Report - Update

With the exception of a few, the grade 4's have completed their rough draft and are ready for typing.   It was my plan to have them start typing them up today as they would have had two opportunities to visit the computer lab but because of EQAO, the lab has been shut down and is now being used as a space for test writing.  Unfortunately this puts us a little bit behind schedule, but not to worry, we will  get there and presentations should be starting sometime during the week of June 9.  Stay tuned for more updates!
