Well, it depends how you look at it. Our learning time will be significantly chopped next week due to the upcoming school concert. We will be using up a lot of class time for practicing as a school and there will be quite bit of interuptions throughout each day. Homework may be little and energy may be high. We'll see how it goes.

Good News and Bad News...
Not to worry, we still have a couple weeks before we hit the stage.
Ciara - One Two Step is the name of the artist and the song title. You can search out the song from home using YouTube, but her dance moves are not quite what we are doing (phew). Hopefully you can remember what we are doing at school and apply it at home. Good Luck!

Three cheers for Marcus!
Something new I've started this week is recognizing students for doing outstanding things. Marcus joined us as a returning student in January. Since his arrival, he has consistently been on top of his class job and often reminds me or others of the jobs that need to be done. He always follows through with instructions immediately and never argues with the teacher or his peers. He is always doing what's right and recognizes when someone needs a helping hand. He is the first to offer his assistance if someone is hurting or upset. He is a calm, respectable, well-mannered individual who is kind to everyone. A very well-deserved award. Congratulations Marcus!

Quarter to or quarter past...that is the question
Today our focus was the quarter hours.
We can say "it's quarter after or quarter past (:15...15 minutes have past after the hour) or quarter to (:45...45 minutes have past or 15 minutes before the next hour).
Tonight's homework reflects this and is due back tomorrow! 2 tickets!

Fun in SCIENCE!
In science we are starting to explore strong and stable structures. Our first task was determining what type of structure we can create with plasticine that will float in water. AND THE WINNER IS.....boats and bowls!!
Math homework
In data management we are now creating graphs. We have done a couple together so far. Tonight everyone is bringing home their math grid book to create their graph. From their math duotang they are to choose 1 table to convert into a graph. They also have a procedure written out in their grid book telling them the steps to successfully create a bar graph. This is due tomorrow for 2 tickets. Have fun! Be neat!
