Thank you soooooo much to everyone who so generously brought me a Christmas gift. All I can say is wow! I've been spoiled! I hope everyone has a fantastic couple weeks. I will be off the air waves for the majority of the break as I will be travelling to a warm sunny climate in approximately 2 hrs! Be safe everyone and see you in 2015!
Wow! Arjun generously bought every one of us a candy gram! How thoughtful. We are very lucky today! :)
Reading graphs..Tonight's homework has been explained and is due tomorrow. Tickets, tickets!!
The holidays are quickly approaching, and we will be celebrating with a holiday brunch on Friday!
All those who did not contribute to our Halloween goodie table will have an opportunity to for this upcoming event. All those students have selected a food item to bring and hopefully this will eleviate an abundance of any one item. Thank you in advance to everyone for contributing...it's going to be great! Because we will be eating around 10 am, only a small breakfast will be necessary and I don't feel that packing a lunch will at all be required. In addition to the fruit, muffins, toast etc, I will be serving hot oatmeal and toasted bagels with cream cheese.
Can't wait!
This week we started data management in math. We are specifically focusing on the interpretation of data in tables and charts. Tonight's homework is a double sided worksheet and is due tomorrow. Two...maybe three...or perhaps four tickets! You'll just have to do your homework to find out!
Today we discussed our various modes of transportation. We discussed how we travel to school and how the other people of the world may travel to their job. Our assignment is to address a hypothetical situation. ALL MODES OF TRANSPORTATION HAVE STOPPED WORKING! Students need to answer how this may affect them personally, and how it may affect others in their community. This is due tomorrow. Tickets ticket stickers!

That's right people! We needed to pursue a 2nd box for our food drive donations. This is great news. However, we've only had 9 generous donators. NINE! There are 21 people in our class...I think we can do better. One non-perishable food item is all we need from each individual. Dig deep guys...deep into those dark corners of your cabinets and grab that can of mushroom soup that has been neglected for months..maybe years. Some lucky soul would be so grateful for that can of soup.
Please Donate!
Students are invited to buy candy grams for $1 starting tomorrow!
How it works: bring in $1 or more to buy your friends a bag of sweets for the holidays. Next week, these bags of sweets will be delivered to students by our Student Leadership Team (SLT). All funds raised will go to various math and language initiatives around the school. Thanks for your support!
We chose a tasty treat and we studied it. We felt it, tasted it, smelled it and listened to it as we took little bites. Then we wrote. Here are a few noteworthy pieces. Enjoy!
Tonight's homework will require everyone to have access to the Internet. In our social studies unit we are discussing tourism with a focus this week on Niagara Falls. As part of a mini project we are starting tomorrow, everyone will need to get familiar with the Websites below. The project will require students to create a fantasy day in Niagara Falls. They will have $100 to spend and will need to choose the attractions that they will visit. Tomorrow we will be using lap tops to navigate through the sites - a head start on getting to know the sites will be very beneficial.
